Apartment Moving Company for Wisconsin Renters

Dan The Moving Man moves apartments, condos, lofts and student rentals in Wisconsin. We carry your furniture and boxes up and down stairs, through shared hallways and into the truck, then set everything up in your new unit.

Apartment moves come with their own rules. Buildings set move-in hours, leases end on the same day for many tenants, and parking a truck near the door is not always easy. We plan around those limits when you book.

Studio or three-bedroom, first floor or third, the process is the same. Tell us the size of the unit, the floor, whether there is an elevator and the move-in window at the new building.

With 15 years in the moving business, a fleet of 9 to 30 trucks and USDOT 3033053 registration, we are set up for any size move. Seniors and military families get 5% off, and customers moving during cancer treatment get 20% off.

Stairs and Walk-Ups

Many Wisconsin apartments are older walk-ups with narrow stairs. Our movers pad each piece and take apart beds, tables and furniture that will not fit through tight turns.

Protecting Shared Spaces

We use door jamb protectors on doorways and pad furniture before it moves through shared halls. That protects your security deposit and keeps your landlord happy.

Elevators and Move Windows

If your building has an elevator, reserve it for your move time and tell us the hours. If the building limits moves to set hours, we schedule the job to fit inside them.

Parking the Truck

Check with your building about where a moving truck can park. Some Wisconsin cities also have winter overnight parking rules from November through spring, so a morning move is often the easiest option in winter.

Student and Lease-End Apartment Moves

Wisconsin college towns see a rush of apartment moves at the start and end of each school year. Eau Claire, La Crosse, Menomonie and Stevens Point all have campuses, and many student leases in those towns begin or end in late May, June or August. Book early if your move falls near those dates.

Our movers can also help if you only need part of the job done.

  • Moving a few items into a furnished unit with our furniture movers
  • Loading a truck you rented with labor-only help
  • Holding your things between leases with short-term storage
  • Packing your kitchen and fragile items with packing services
  • Clearing out furniture you are not keeping with junk removal

Where We Move Apartments

We move apartments in college towns and city centers across our service areas, including Eau Claire near UW-Eau Claire, Menomonie near UW-Stout, La Crosse near UW-La Crosse and Stevens Point near UW-Stevens Point. We also move condos and rentals in Altoona, Onalaska, Wausau, Weston, Plover and Rhinelander.

Check Your Lease Before Move Day

Most leases say how the unit must look when you move out. Read the move-out terms, take photos of each room once it is empty and return your keys on time. If your new lease lets you move in early, a day of overlap makes the move easier and gives you time to clean.
