Senior Movers and Senior Moving Services in Wisconsin

Beyond nursing home moves, our senior movers help older adults move into assisted living and smaller homes across Wisconsin. Our senior moving services cover packing, labeling and organizing belongings, moving them and setting up furniture in the new room so it feels like home on the first night. Seniors and military families get 5% off their move.

Senior moves are personal for us. The move that restarted our owner’s moving business was a customer’s mother going into assisted living. We also help hospice patients within 45 minutes of our Eau Claire, Wausau, La Crosse and Rhinelander offices by rearranging furniture at home to make life easier. Customers moving during cancer treatment get 20% off their move.

What a Senior Move Includes

Packing, Labeling and Organizing

We pack belongings and label each box by where it goes. Items for the new room are kept apart from items going to family members, storage or donation.

Furniture Setup in the New Space

Our movers place the bed, chairs and dresser where the resident wants them and put furniture back together so the room is ready to use.

Family Communication

We talk with the family before the move, confirm details with them and let them know when the move is done.

Working With the Facility

Assisted living and nursing homes often have move-in times, elevator rules and paperwork. Share the facility’s rules with us, and we schedule the move to fit them.

Downsizing Before a Senior Move

Most seniors move from a larger home into a smaller space. Deciding what goes is often the hardest part. A few steps help.

  • Measure the new room. Get the room size from the facility and pick furniture that fits.
  • Choose favorites first. Pick the chair, the photos and the items that make a room feel familiar.
  • Plan for the rest. Decide what goes to family, what goes to storage and what goes to donation.
  • Clear what is left. Our junk removal service hauls away the remaining items and donates what it can.

Moving a Parent From Another State

If your parent is moving closer to you, our long-distance movers handle the drive on a dedicated truck with delivery in 2 to 3 days.

Coverage for Family Heirlooms

Basic released value coverage at $0.60 per pound comes with every move. For heirlooms and furniture with real value, add Full Valuation Coverage by listing items on the valuation form before the move date.

Where We Help Seniors Move

We handle senior moves across our service areas, including assisted living and nursing home moves in Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls and Menomonie, in La Crosse and Onalaska, in Wausau, Weston, Stevens Point and Merrill and in Rhinelander. If a parent is moving from one of these cities to be closer to family in another, we handle that move too.

Tips for Families on Move Day

Have one family member be the main contact for our movers. Pack a bag with medicine, glasses, chargers and a change of clothes for the first night. Bring a few familiar items to the new room first, like a favorite blanket or photos, so the space feels like home right away.
